1960s blue / natural white striped blazer jacket in by Clifton a lightweight unlined woven polyester - good for mild / warm weather.
Works very well belted at the waist over some wide cut trousers - Think Cruise Collection Chic!
Made in England.
The shape is loose cut, fairly straight and falling below the hip.The jacket fastens with anchor crested double-breasted buttons.
A bit of history….
This jacket was purchased as part of the extensive wardrobe belonging to an astute woman of fashion (I call her Leopard Lady as she loved leopard print) who lived to 100 years. Her daughter informed me that up until the age of 70 she always wore heels, hats and a handbag and was recognized and admired in her local high street in the Midlands.
She was a statuesque 5 feet 7 inches (170 cm) and her items are marked between size 18 - 20. By today’s standards, the clothes often come up smaller and I therefore mention the modern day size alongside any marked size.
The collection purchased includes coats, blouses, dresses, bags, hats (Large fit) and shoes (Fit 39 / UK 6) which will be listed for sale.

The vintage size label is 22. In my opinion the fit is XXL or a UK 16 / 18

The garment is alight mid weight and is unlined
Good Condition with re-hem stitches visible on one sleeve and small snag repair seen on the inside of the back hem (see last 2 photos for inside and outside).
