SUPERB COLOURS AND FATERRING SHAPE!
The wonderful pastel palette of this 1980s dress by Brigitte of London took my breath away!
The dress is in a finely pleated stretchy acetate / nylon jersey fabric. The top has a faux-wrap and the waist is elasticated. As the top drapes slightly over the waist, I actually preferred the look without the belt tie included.
A bit of history….
This dress was purchased as part of the extensive wardrobe belonging to an astute woman of fashion (I call her Leopard Lady as she loved leopard print) who lived to 100 years. Her daughter informed me that up until the age of 70 she always wore heels, hats and a handbag and was recognized and admired in her local high street in the Midlands.
She was a statuesque 5 feet 7 inches (170 cm) and her items are marked between size 18 - 20. By today’s standards, the clothes often come up smaller and I therefore mention the modern day size alongside any marked size.
The collection purchased includes coats, blouses, dresses, bags, hats (Large fit) and shoes (Fit 39 / UK 6) which will be listed for sale.
A series of related ‘fashion shoot’ style posts are appearing on the Marshmallowvintage Instagram. This dress has been featured.
There is no size label. In my opinion the fit is an M / L or UK 12 / 14
We advise that you check all the measurements below.
The garment is a mid-weight and is unlined. May require a slip to be worn as fabric a little see-through
Excellent Condition with tiny faint mark hidden in the pleats at the front on the skirt (see last photo) - INSIGNIFICANT!
Amazingly Bright Clean Fresh Colour
Where video is shown (depending on the platform) I am shown modelling it. My build is an M / UK 12 / M, 5'4" with broad shoulders, short torso and long legs.
